Who publishes All Things FDE
All Things FDE is a reference on forward deployed engineering: what the role is, where it came from, how it compares with adjacent roles and the terms people use.
Where our facts come from
- Pay and job-market numbers come from primary data (the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, public filings, pay ranges in job postings) and say which period they cover.
- Program and company details are taken from the organization's own pages: its documentation, its course or exam pages and its job postings.
- Research is linked at its source: the paper or report, not a summary of it.
Factual claims are footnoted, with a numbered link to the source. When we cannot find a source for something, we leave it out.
How we make money
We take no payment for coverage and earn no referral fees. We have a business connection with Torchlane. Torchlane runs AI FDE training and introduces employers to forward deployed engineering candidates.
None of our articles recommends Torchlane today. If one does, it will label it "Our top pick" and carry the note where the recommendation appears. A link to Torchlane from an article would go first to an address on this site that records the click (see the Privacy Policy). We also share an analytics account with Torchlane, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Other programs, companies and options are described in their own published terms, and the site carries no display advertising.
This is not professional advice
We describe roles, programs and markets and what the evidence says about them. For a decision about your career, a contract, hiring or money, ask a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
What we never do
- Promise a job, a salary or an outcome.
- Take money for coverage, or hide a business connection behind a recommendation.
- Invent authors, reviewers, testimonials, ratings, salaries or statistics.
